Each year, summer in New Orleans officially begins Each year, summer in New Orleans officially begins with the arrival of Creole tomatoes, a local delicacy. Grown in the unique alluvial soil along the Mississippi River in Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes, these tomatoes have a distinguishable taste. Enjoying them at the start of summer is one of southern Louisiana's great culinary rewards. Every June, Chef Erik celebrates these flavors by pairing Creole tomatoes with Louisiana Blue Crab on a special menu. Call 504-568-1885 to reserve, or just come on by.

The story goes that this magnificent piece of architecture was once housed inside the Hotel Cairo, which was located in Cairo, Illinois, at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. The bar was removed from the hotel, placed on a barge, and then floated down the river where it was subsequently moved to the building that now houses our restaurant. When we took over the building in 2000, the bar was located on the second floor. We remodeled and moved it to the first floor, where a new generation of revelers are now cozying up for cocktails at this historic gem.
